Initially, I had some reservations as our preparation seemed somewhat unclear. Our strict schedule required us to be asleep at 11 PM each night and rise at 6 AM in the morning. The program emphasized self-direction, allowing everyone to create their own campaigns and compete for positions, an equal playing field where everyone was of similar age. Together, we collaborated to draft legislation and pass bills. We faced challenges such as dealing with a mock situation of an ostrich on the loose, a flood, and many more. With an open-book mock bar exam, attendees could become lawyers, attorneys, and more. Engaging in this program provided invaluable insights into self-discovery and understanding my interactions with others. On the lighter side, we constructed roads with painter's tape in the city and enforced road laws with fines. The number of people who sped through our city was absurd, and unfortunately, many disregarded the laws we put in place. Our daily plans were organized through city caucuses, and our evening meetings featured head counselors, those of whom were returning delegates, who imparted wisdom and guidance through thought-provoking quotes and lessons. The program provided comprehensive knowledge about governance and politics, albeit the introduction of electronic polls this year posed some challenges. All these experiences and so many more opportunities at the program fulfilled its mission as "A Week to Shape a Lifetime," leaving a lasting impact on all participants."
